Founded in November 2003, we specialize in healthy, human-grade ingredient canine and feline diets and treats, as well as distinctive toys, bowls, collars, leashes, apparel, carriers, home accessories and gift items. Palmetto Paws also features a “do-it-yourself” dog wash facility with two large, professional grade tubs and all the shampoo, conditioner, towels, brushes, combs and other equipment necessary to keep Fido looking good – plus it’s fun and takes the hassle and mess out of bathing a dog at home! About the owners: Meg Branan While her sweet Labs, Lily, Rosy and Besse serve as Palmetto Paws' greeters, models and treat testers, Meg Branan is the woman behind the dog. Meg is a UNC graduate originally from Salisbury, N.C., and her lifelong love of animals comes from growing up with 3 cats (Sam, Sassy and Thomas Toonces) and 5 dogs (Gus, Romeo, Barney, Maggie and Ginger). Palmetto Paws gives Meg the opportunity to satisfy her recent yearnings to dress small dogs in haute couture from head to tail. Despite a bad gag reflex at any mention of ‘hair,’ Meg is psyched to clean up the post-bath dog fur in Palmetto Paws self-service dog wash Beth Thomas Beth Thomas is a Salisbury, N.C. native who grew up in Atlanta and has lived in Washington, D.C., Chicago and now Charleston, S.C. She has always had a soft spot for furry creatures great and small, despite passing out at a vet’s office during a 4th grade field trip, and is psyched to now spend her days outfitting dogs and cats with the coolest gear, healthiest food and treats and hippest beds, bowls, collars and leashes. Beth and her husband, Russ, are the proud parents of a Lab-Newfoundland mix named Murph. Suzanne Lewis Suzanne Lewis and her rescue Greyhound Santa are the most recent additions to the Palmetto Paws family. Suzanne hails from Greenwood, S.C. and is a graduate of the College of Charleston and the University of South Carolina. Suz and her husband, Kevin, are also parents to kitties Sara, Sassafras and Jasper. The Lewis family loves a good karaoke party and has several incriminating photos of their pets belting out tunes after a few too many bully sticks. Santa was recently mistaken for a goat by a visually challenged neighbor, yet he continues to hold his head high and help Palmetto Paws’ canine customers with their food, treat, collar, leash, bed and bath needs. |
